Jeff Weingarten is an industry leader and a nationally recognized digital artist who has been designing captivating visual effects for television shows, films, exhibits and commercials for over twenty years.
In 2004, he collaborated with the National Museum of the American Indian to produce seven video presentations for exhibition. As Creative Director, Jeff directed both professional and non-professional talent in addition to compositing the short subject videos. Early in 2005, Jeff led IMG’s partnership with thinkfilm, inc. to create eight one-hour documentaries for the Science Channel titled “The 100 Greatest Scientific Discoveries.”
Jeff has been with IMG since 1989. During this time, he helped advance IMG to the forefront of an industry which involves constant change, adaptation, and implementation of new technologies. IMG has actively pursued these advances as they have led the industry into nonlinear digital production, High Definition television, fiber and satellite distribution and new media. Jeff’s understanding of these technologies, combined with an ability to maximize their potential in cost effective methodologies, has enabled the creation of visually exciting programming for numerous high profile clients on an international level. IMG, as a part of its core business philosophy, espouses a training and educational effort which keeps its employees and clients on the cutting edge of these latest technologies.
Clients have sought Jeff’s creative talents: ad agencies, broadcast and cable entities, direct television marketers, government, corporate, political clients along with independent producers. In addition, he was instrumental in the design of IMG’s first 601 component digital edit suites and the company’s smoke*/flame* suite. Early 1999, he completed the design and installation of IMG’s first HDTV suite with a fire*/inferno* room. Since that time he has completed numerous HD projects for the US Army, PBS, Discovery, among others.
Jeff’s work has earned him a number of prestigious ITS International Monitor awards. In addition, he has won numerous other honors including the ITVA Silver Reel, the CINE Golden Eagle, the Silver Quasar, the Golden Triangle Award of Merit and most recently, a Washington Film & Video Council Peer Award.
Jeff Weingarten earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland, where he studied radio, television and film.
